Grieving BIPOC Parents

Return to Zero: H.O.P.E.

Return to Zero: H.O.P.E. has collated the following resources for “people who who identify as either Black, Indigenous, or as a person of color and who have experienced pregnancy or infant loss.”

Amos’ Anchors is committed to the life-long, personal work of being anti-racist. We recognize the drastic disparities of care for Black families, especially as it pertains to prenatal care, labor and delivery, postpartum care, and after facing PAIL (pregnancy and infant loss), and we are working with members in our community to shed light on the topic and resources to improving care.

We are huge fans and supporters of the work that Cradle Kalamazoo is doing to remove these disparities and eliminate infant and maternal death in the Black community in West Michigan.

We also strongly support Shades of Becoming a Mom and the work Tieree Reid is doing to spread awareness of memorial and awareness events like Black Maternal Health Week and National Black Baby Loss Awareness Week and Black Candle Day.

While we seek to provide resources that all families can access without the fear of being mistreated, we know that racism is systemic and often hidden from plain sight. If you know of any additional helpful resources for us to list here, or if you have found any resources to be problematic, please do not hesitate to contact us at amosanchors@gmail.com.
