Paperwork & Testing Options

The fog of grief makes doing tedious paperwork even more difficult. Here are some areas you may want to make sure you look into:

-Child tax credit qualifications (Only children born alive qualify to apply for the child tax credit, even if the child lived only briefly.)

-Social Security Number (Only children born alive qualify to apply and receive a social security number.)

-Birth Certificate & Death Certificate (Only stillborn children qualify for certificates in Indiana. If your child does not qualify, and you’d like to print a Recognition of Life certificate for personal use, you can find those here in our digital downloads for free.)

-Placental pathology options

-Genetic testing options

-Autopsy options
