Caring Companions (St. Francis Hospital, Indianapolis)
Offered at Franciscan Health Indianapolis, Caring Companions are mothers who have lost a child to miscarriage, stillbirth or neonatal death. These women feel called to share their experiences and bring comfort to other parents going through pregnancy loss. Caring Companions are not nurses. They are trained volunteers certified as RTS (Resolve Through Sharing) caregivers. There is no fee for their time and services, which include:
- Making mementos and taking pictures of your precious baby
- Providing information to your questions
- Providing support to you and your family

Healing Hearts (Parkview Health, Ft. Wayne)
Bereavement support services are available to you while in the hospital, and support group services are available once you’re home. A Cuddle Cot or a Caring Cradle is available at Parkview Regional Medical Center and Parkview Hospital Randallia for you to keep baby in the room with you during your stay. Chaplaincy services and the Bereavement Coordinator, Cori McKenzie, are there to support you and your family as you navigate your time at Parkview. There is no fee for their time and services, which include:
- Making mementos and taking pictures of your precious baby
- Providing information to your questions
- Providing support to you and your family
After you leave the hospital, Healing Hearts support group is available to you. They meet the third Tuesday of every month, 6:30-8 p.m., in the Chaplaincy Suite on the second floor of Parkview Regional Medical Center. Call Parkview Chaplaincy Services at (260) 266-1470 to learn more.
Should you have a subsequent pregnancy after your loss, the Pregnancy After Loss support group meets the first Tuesday of every month, 6:30-8 p.m., in the Chaplaincy Suite on the second floor of Parkview Regional Medical Center. Call Parkview Chaplaincy Services at (260) 266-1470 to learn more.
