Support Groups

Grief support groups can be a very healing place for those navigating the waters of miscarriage, stillbirth, and infant loss. Not all support groups are the same, and you may try a few before finding the one right for you.

Here is a list of the support groups specific to miscarriage and baby loss here in Michigan:

Ele’s Place

It is important to note that Ele’s Place serves children who are grieving for many different reasons, but this does include the loss of a sibling. “Ele’s Place offers ongoing in-person peer support groups during the evening for grieving children and teens ages 3-18. Groups are offered at no cost to the families. Groups are divided by age/grade, and typically include: Preschool/Kindergarten, Early Elementary, Upper Elementary, Middle School, High School, and at some branches, Young Adult. Groups allow children and teens to realize they are not alone by connecting with individuals their age, and are led by trained volunteers with oversight by Clinical Program Staff. Support groups for the parents or guardians of Ele’s Place children or teens are available and facilitated by Licensed Clinicians. It’s important to be able to support adults in their grief, so they can be more present with their child’s/teen’s grief. Peer grief support services vary slightly in each community. Please contact the branch location closest to you for specific peer grief support group details.”
